Cook Who's Who
Public Profile

Founder of Holistic Kids, passionate about helping families discover the many holistic options available to support their children’s wellbeing. With a background in social work and children’s wellbeing, I believe in looking at the whole child across cognitive, physical, emotional, social and spiritual health. I’m equally passionate about creating opportunities for holistic practitioners to be seen, valued and connected with the families searching for what they offer.
Holistic Kids
Holistic Kids is an online community hub connecting families with holistic practitioners, products, events and resources that support children and families.
We bring together a diverse range of modalities across the five pillars of wellbeing: cognitive, physical, emotional, social and spiritual, helping families discover options they may not have known existed and make more informed choices for their children.
At the same time, we support holistic practitioners and aligned businesses to increase their visibility, connect with families and grow thriving, sustainable practices.
Our vision is simple: to create a trusted ecosystem where families can explore their options and holistic businesses can be discovered.
Because when businesses shine, our children thrive.

Distinguished and Famous people from Cook
Vera Scarth-Johnson
Botanical artist Vera Scarth-Johnson moved to Cooktown in 1972, beginning an extraordinary later-life project: painting the plants of the Endeavour River district. She collected specimens for herbaria and worked with Guugu Yimithirr friends to record local knowledge of plants. Her paintings became a gift to the community. Detailed observation linked art with botany in her work, while the district’s flora supplied more subjects than one lifetime could comfortably accommodate. She received the Medal of the Order of Australia in 1995.
